I had been thinking about lineage and ancestors, and the good people who built the world we live in and that brought us to life; how much we owe to their strength, dreams and love. This painting has a formal structure, the repeat pattern suggests time passing, and the surface is very worked and layered, creating an interesting patina, also suggesting the passing of time. The bowls are a humble vessel with a gold inlay, saying that the offering that we each have to bring to the world has more meaning than we can know or see for now, and may carry on in ways we can’t imagine into the future.
