The four of us knew this river from before we could walk, pushed in prams and on the back of our parents’ bikes. The river doesn't care. A short stay in a beloved part of the world at an unforgiving time of year. We don’t want to leave. It sounds and smells the same here. There's talk of stout in McGloin’s as we turn to walk back.
