I’m always talking to the sea, I ask it where it’s been, it tries to tell me stories of islands far away, giant whales, sea horses, long voyages, lost kingdoms and treasure, but mostly it knows I can’t understand, so it just makes music along the edges and we go along happily together.
These colours are those I find along my shore, wet sand, seaweed and rocks. The raised surface of the lines are reminiscent of the waves, and also music scores or poems smudged and rewritten.
