We took a walk up the Old Burma Road today. Just the two of us. We hadn't been up there in a while because of the climb. It was muggy and still. We walked through oak, then pine, then brambles. We reached the opening in the trees and stopped to look down on the spit. Blackberries hang heavy now and the smell of the pines is intoxicating.
