Collection: Katherine St Angelo
Katherine St. Angelo is originally from the United States now lives and works in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Her work has been exhibited in numerous group shows and is held in private collections.
Katherine’s work explores the relationship we have with our environment and how it is uniquely tied to our own ‘emotional landscape’. Using textile, printmaking, painting, collage and recycled materials she creates figurative landscapes that are a portrayal of her own memories. The forms, impressions and sense of the landscapes encapsulate moments in time, thoughts, feelings and emotions. St. Angelo draws inspiration from the colours and textures of the earth, the movement and mood of the landscape and our innate connection to it. Her pieces reflect a perspective, centred around identity, that through the process evolve their own narrative. Although her work deals with her own sense of belonging, each piece seeks to elicit a natural resonance or connection through the landscape.
