The grief of parting from those we love with the promise of return is something we all experience, the hope is that when we or they return times will somehow be better.

Painting landscapes I find myself in the spaces and places long emptied, I hear their words and the times we laughed, painting is to hold those thoughts for longer before they fade into doubt and dust.

These houses on the coast sit close to the sea and the salt fills the air and my chest as I pass.

Many cannot return, some choose not to, others do but too late. Spend time with those who have known you the longest.
