Collection: Jude Fenton
Jude Fenton, contemporary textile artist based in Belfast takes inspiration from the landscape of home and draws on memories that have a sense of place. She explores the relationship between recollection of fleeting images in the mind and their connection to the land. Graduating with BA Hons from Loughborough University in Printed Textiles, Fenton uses a combination of dyeing techniques along with her unique manipulation of the fabric and stitch to represent the idea of places leaving energetic imprints on our minds just as we leave behind our footsteps on the land. The landscapes often becoming reduced to simple line and form, bolder shapes being more dominate as details are lost through time and retrospection. Most recently her work on Irish linen and use of natural dyes seeks to embody the essence of the land with elements from the earth being infused in the works themselves.
