"Helga was involved in the Easter Rising when the Government forces used her to shell Dublin in April 1916.
Helga was purchased by the Irish Free State in 1923 and renamed Muirchú (Irish: Hound of the Sea). She sank off the Wexford coast in 1947. The wheel was recovered from the wreck by local divers and for a time was in Kehoes Pub in Kilmore Quay. Is it still?
Celebrated or maybe vilified in Canon Charles O’Neill’s song the foggy dew. “While Britannia's sons, with their long range guns sailed in through the foggy dew” " -Andrew Gault
