It's no secret by now that we've had some work done to the gallery, and you may be thinking 'but it was fine the way it was' but you'd be wrong.
With the gallery being open for well over 12 years in its current form it was starting to show its age a bit so we thought why waste the perfect opportunity while we are all closed to clean it up a bit.
Our first major change is our shiny new floor, supplied and fitted by The Door Store. We always knew the floor was going to be the first to go and after over a decade of wear it was well earned. We opted for a light wood effect with a chevron pattern. Our main aim is to create a brighter and more neutral space over all to draw more focus to the artwork.
We have repainted all the walls in our new favourite white 'Strong White' from Farrow and Ball, which we have our customer to thank for this. We recently framed a print with this colour and it really stuck with us as the perfect gallery wall colour.
Over all we just cleaned up our space, painted our units in strong white and moved them about to create more space in the gallery. Our framing consultation area has been moved to the front, free standing to create more of a collaborative space to work with you on picking frames. We wont lie, this is heavily inspired by the amazing Hang Tough in Dublin. Its no secret we adore their workshop and gallery space.
We have a few more things we will be working on over the next few months but for now we love it!
Stay tuned, Canvas Team.
